Client: Tabassum
Industry: Fashion eCommerce
Services Provided: Settlement and Collections
Overview
Every wedding season, Tabassum’s online store fills up with orders for the kind of formal and traditional wear people save up for. The brand ships nationwide, drops new collections with every holiday cycle, and lets customers pay however suits them best. Such as cards, eWallet, or cash on delivery. That flexibility is good for sales. It’s also exactly what made the back end harder to manage. As order volumes climbed during peak wedding and Eid periods. The manual process behind tracking and settling all those payments started to buckle under its own weight. That’s the point at which AssanPay stepped in. Not to change how Tabassum sells clothes, but to give its finance team a system. A centralized system in which they could actually trust to track revenue from the moment a customer pays to the moment it lands in the bank.
The Challenge
Prior to the partnership, Tabassum’s team reconciled settlements manually. A practice common among growing eCommerce brands. Confirming that an order had been paid required following up with couriers, verifying which COD and online payment orders had settled. Cross-checking that information against the order list, and waiting for funds to arrive. This process was manageable under normal order volumes but became increasingly time-intensive during seasonal sales and shopping periods. When order volumes rose sharply and reconciliation work absorbed hours the team needed for other priorities.
A related issue also compounded this workload, as orders were often marked as delivered several days before the corresponding payment actually settled. This created an inconsistency between reported sales and realized cash flow. Which makes it difficult for the finance team to determine how much revenue was actually available at any given point.
The Approach
AssanPay took over both settlement and collections, treating the two as one connected process instead of separate tasks. AssanPay fixed the settlement timeline first. Instead of waiting on unpredictable transfers, Tabassum now receives funds on a set schedule.
Collections changed just as directly. AssanPay now reconciles cash-on-delivery and online payments in one dashboard, pulling in courier-reported data instead of leaving Tabassum’s team to track it across spreadsheets. Tabassum’s team pulls up any order and sees its payment status instantly, without chasing couriers separately.
Results
Following the transition to AssanPay, settlement turnaround improved from approximately 1-2 weeks to T+2 days. Time spent on manual reconciliation declined from roughly 10-12 hours per week to 1-2 hours per week. Discrepancies between courier-reported deliveries and actual settled amounts decreased by 70% to 80% and the finance team reported improved visibility ahead of subsequent seasonal launches.
Conclusion
Tabassum’s core business remains product design and seasonal collections, not payment operations. Taking on settlement and collections let AssanPay give the finance team accurate, dependable numbers instead of manual guesswork. For a brand built around fixed seasonal peaks, that difference matters most exactly when it counts. Heading into the next season, with real numbers to plan against.
